CORKSCREWED AND TWISTED- DINING OUT GROUP- 17TH OF SEPTEMBER DINNER- COME JOIN US FOR A GREAT TIME, GREAT FOOD AND FRIENDS!

We are going to be having our IL Piccolo Caffe Dinner on 17th September at 7:30 pm at 248 Willis Street . Their phone is 385-2645 for directions or menu choices. They have great Italian Cuisine and are a very charming small restaurant in Wellington.

They can ONLY accept 18 guests and we are taking the whole place for the evening, so please book asap if you are interested. The cost will be $35.00 for your choice of a great menu.

This is one of our favorite places but if you RSVP, you must be serious about coming as the owner( Barry) is kind enough to give us the whole place for the night. You can bring your own wine if you would like.

Cancellations only in cases of death, dismemberment or serious illness, please! June 20th 2008 Dining Out Event

We have a casual dinner in Wellington on 20 June, 2008 at 7:30 pm!

Satay Kingdom, in Cuba Mall's Left Bank in Wellington.

We have been told it is a "cheap & cheerful" Malaysian/Chinese place with indoor and outdoor seating, very casual with great food.

There is a limit of 15 people who can attend so please sign up soon. Please call and find out whether you can BYO or any other menu questions.

Also, if you know of other people who might want to know about our group, or forums where we should post. Please spread the word. Everyone is welcome, not just expats. Have people email me to be added to the list.

We have a dinner coming up on 2nd May, at Amigos Chilean Restaurant at 7 pm( also has great Mexican food- and we are very fussy having lived in Mexico in the past). It is casual dining and less expensive than some of our other dinner choices lately.

Anyone interested in joining a Book club

One of my personal passions is reading. I would like to start a book club in Welly if there are enough people interested. I would like to suggest the first book be 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult.



One of my favorite authors of late is Jodi Picoult, I have liked a number of her books and find her quirky topics intriguing:



FYI-She is coming to town on 23 May- see below.



I have enjoyed a sort of free forum book club- not a whole lot of rules or convention, just fun conversation about what we liked or didn't like about a book coupled with nibbles and wine of course. I am happy to informally facilitate the group, but would like anyone who joins to contribute to the book list of what we want to read.

Dim Sum Sunday- 13 April

We love going out for Dim Sum ( yum cha) for brunch and received a recommendation for this place from a woman in the know. It has also gotten great reviews elsewhere so she must be right. So let's get together on Sunday the 13th of April for some great dim sum at 11: 00 am. BYO if you want to start that early in the morning.
